What we collect
Subscribers: If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your email address and your frequency preference. We store nothing else about you.
Feedback: If you submit feedback on an article, we store the text of your message and a one-way hash of your IP address (used only for basic spam prevention). We do not store your IP address in a recoverable form.
Cookies: We do not set tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies. We do not use third-party tracking of any kind.
Site analytics: We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the site is used. This collects anonymous, aggregated data only — page URLs visited, referrer, approximate location (country and region), device type, and browser type. No personal identifiers are collected or stored. No cookies are used. Individual visitor session data is automatically discarded after 24 hours. This data cannot be used to identify you.
What we do with it
Subscriber emails are used to send the newsletter you signed up for, and nothing else. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
We use Resend to deliver email. Your email address is transmitted to their servers for that purpose. See Resend's privacy policy.
We use Vercel to host this site and for anonymous analytics. See Vercel's privacy policy.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any newsletter email. To request deletion of your data, contact us at privacy@youaskedwhat.com.
Hosting and infrastructure
This site is hosted on Vercel. The database is hosted on Supabase. Both are GDPR-compliant services. Data is stored in the EU or UK where possible.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance.
